The Assistant Manager Global SEO reports to the Manager,Global Digital Marketing Website Optimization. As the Global SEO and WebsiteProjects Assistant Manager, this person will:

  • Act as the SEO expert on the Global DigitalMarketing team and will manage the global relationship with SEO vendor.
  • This will include honing POV’s on varioustopics, issues and functional changes that crop up with Search Engines andSocial Media
  • Emphasis will be on working with divisional andglobal stakeholders to identify opportunities to optimize existing SEO andsocial executions to help improve business results and meet business goals.

o This includes growth in key online research,shopping and brand building behaviors.

  • This person will also be responsible inassisting with the deployment of technology platforms globally to ensure bestpractices and global standards are followed and implemented.

o This person will also be responsible forensuring that creative and media agency resources are best aligned to supportglobal and divisional needs.

o This person will be considered the SubjectMatter Expert (SME) for earned media.

o Prior global and enterprise level SEO experienceis required.

Additionally, they may be responsible for managing thebusiness side of website projects globally. They will work with the global brands and international markets torollout website platform projects as appropriate while ensuring that eachproject is scoped appropriately for local relevance, legal and privacyconcerns. The ideal candidate will understand how to drive project deliverablesand make sure that global functional needs are taken into account at thecorrect times.

Position Tasks and Responsibilities

  • SEO:

o Lead development and participate in thesuccessful achievement of key owned and earned media goals in priority regions

o Work with GM regions and agency partners toensure site deployments adhere to best practices and global standards

o Identification and management of SEO bestpractices among global and divisional stakeholders

o Subject Mater Expert for SEO-relatedoptimization activities, including link-building, content optimization, A/Bcontent testing, emerging technology

o Collaborate with global digital stakeholders to findearned media solutions to improve performance against business goals andidentify solutions to areas needing improvement

o Ensure social alignment across all digitalplatforms by leading integration of social strategies and tactics with web andsearch agencies

o Work in a multi-vendor landscape that includesdigital production agencies, creative agencies, and other web-services.

o Oversee development and tracking of global SEObenchmarks and goals to measure performance in key earned media tactics

o Coordinate with owned media (web platforms) teamto ensure content, linking strategies, and Search-optimized coding is properlyimplemented on GM websites globally

  • Website Projects

o Project management of identified websiteprojects globally

o Solid understanding of digital marketing andwebsite development best practices specifically pertaining to websitedevelopment and SEO best practices

o Lead meetings with key business stakeholders

o Liaison with GM IT and global brands in the usecase development, section, roll-out and use of digital platforms andtechnologies

o Stay current on industry-wide bestpractices/trends in digital marketing and digital marketing advancements in theoptimization area

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business,technology or closely related field
  • At least 4 years’ experience in digitalmarketing with expertise in SEO required
  • Experience managing website projects
  • Social Media experience preferred
  • Deep understanding of digital media space,including technology platforms
  • Understanding of coding languages and contentmanagement systems, including what their capabilities and limitations are.(i.e., HTML5/CSS3, JS, SQL, AEM 6.x, AMP)
  • Previous marketing or advertising agencyexperience required
  • Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environmentand to remain graceful under pressure
  • Work effectively with others (peers, directreports, senior management)
  • Ability to travel
