Strategy #1: Forum Marketing
I don’t understand why most marketers completely ignore forums and boards. Where else can you find hundreds of laser-targeted people hanging out in one place?
Here’s how to take advantage of forums:
STEP #1: FIND FORUMS IN YOUR NICHE
You can use these search strings:
“forum” + “keyword”
“board” + “keyword“
“forum” + “keyword“
“latest discussion” + “keyword“
“powered by vbulletin” + “keyword“
“You cannot post new topics in this forum” + “keyword”
STEP #2: PINPOINT ONE ACTIVE FORUM
Check the latest posts to make sure that people are posting.
STEP #3: CREATE YOUR FOUNDATION
Remember: when you join a forum, you’re also joining a community.
Because many marketers understand the amazing potential of forums, certain forums are ripe with spam.
Strategy #2: Pre-Outreach
STEP #1: Find people that have recently shared a similar piece of content on social media
(or linked to it)
(You can use Buzzsumo or Ahrefs for this)
STEP #2: Make a list of the people that shared something similar to your content.
STEP #3: Send those people a “heads up” about your upcoming post

Strategy #3: Increase The “Promotability” of Your Content
TACTIC #1: OPTIMAL CONTENT LENGTH
Make sure your content is AT LEAST 2,000 words (3,000 is even better)
TACTIC #2: OPTIMAL LINE LENGTH
Aim for between 480 and 700 pixels.
TACTIC #3: SUPERHERO-STRONG INTROS
Make sure your intro is thin and has at least one information gap.
